Job summary

Upham Inns is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead guest experiences on the floor and support the General Manager in daily operations. You will be out on the floor, driving standards, and ensuring high-quality service.

You will manage HR duties, recruit and develop staff, and help open/close the business. A strong hospitality background and leadership mindset are essential to thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership skills with a passion for staff development and upskilling.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Previous supervisory experience within Hospitality.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays is essential.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of guest experience at a high level with consistency through every shift.
• Overall responsibility for the food and beverage.
• Achieving the KPI's / performance metrics for the ongoing financial success of the business.
• HR responsibilities including recruitment and development of staff.
• Stock controls.
• Drive business through the delivery of consistent guest experiences.
• Opening and closing of the business.

You will still be out there on the floor, right at the heart of the action - but you’ll be more than just ‘one of the team’. While the General Manager drives the business, it is you that manages the day-to-day running of the business…

You’ll need to take ownership of problems, and you’ll live by a mantra of ‘always doing the right thing’ – sometimes needing to think outside the box.
