Each bakery is inspired by the charm of a Parisian boulangerie, where exceptional quality and warm hospitality meet.

The Role
We are looking for an energetic and people-focused Assistant Manager to join our Borough Market team. In this key leadership role, you will work closely with the Bakery Manager to ensure exceptional service, operational excellence, and a motivated, engaged team. You’ll be hands-on, leading by example, and helping create a vibrant, professional, and welcoming bakery environment for both customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

Lead, inspire, and motivate the team to perform at their absolute best, supporting the Bakery Manager in delivering Oree’s exceptional service experience.

Demonstrate outstanding hospitality, ensuring every customer feels valued and welcome.

Oversee smooth daily operations using the run sheet, ensuring efficient opening and closing procedures.

Maintain brand standards at all times—ensuring the bakery is fully stocked, displays are immaculate, and all products meet Oree’s presentation and quality standards.

Manage compliance tasks daily, weekly, and monthly, ensuring the bakery and equipment remain clean, sanitised, and safe.

Support customer service across all channels, including in-store, online orders, and review platforms—responding promptly and professionally.

Drive a positive workplace culture where the team feels supported, engaged, and motivated to excel.

Assist in training and developing team members, helping them grow their skills and confidence.

Key to the Role

Previous supervisory or assistant management experience in a hospitality or retail environment.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

A natural leader who is people-focused, approachable, and able to inspire and motivate others.

A genuine interest in French bakery and patisserie, with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Commitment to maintaining Oree’s high operational and brand standards.

What You’ll Get

Complimentary coffee and tea.

Access to Wagestream for flexible financial management.

A supportive environment where your leadership can shine and your career can grow.

If you’re ready to lead a passionate team, deliver outstanding customer experiences, and help manage one of London’s busiest artisan bakeries, we’d love to hear from you.
