Job summary

Pertemps Milton Keynes is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join a supportive finance team in Milton Keynes. This role offers exposure to management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and business partnering, with opportunities to develop professionally.

You'll work closely with the wider finance team and stakeholders to deliver accurate financial information and drive continuous improvement within the function.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent (or actively studying).
• Experience in management accounting or assistant management accounting role.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls and management reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process by working with operational teams to gather and analyse financial data.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Produce and analyse financial reports to provide meaningful insight into business performance.
• Monitor costs and support financial control initiatives across the business.
• Assist with the preparation of information for internal and external audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and support automation initiatives.
• Support VAT returns and other statutory compliance requirements.
• Contribute to ad hoc financial projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
