Job Description:

Position summary:

This role is focused on our Retail business, including UK stores and international locations in Europe, Canada, USA, and New Zealand.

As part of a team of 4, you will support the Finance Business Partner for Retail, who oversees business partnering, reporting, and financial control.

Month end responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post period-end journal entries.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Explain variances to budget and prior year for key expenses.
  • Assist in preparing performance reports for management.

Business partnering:

  • Identify overspend drivers, analyze variances, and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Develop stakeholder relationships within the Retail team.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting with the Commercial Finance team.

Compliance and controls:

  • Participate in year-end processes and audits.
  • Enhance financial systems and controls through continuous improvement.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Participate in special projects as needed.

This role is suitable for someone studying towards an accountancy qualification and offers potential for advancement into a Management Accountant position.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of finance experience in a high-volume environment.
