The University wishes to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to support the University's Capital Programme and team. Responsibilities include overseeing the Financial Planning and Management Information Tool (IBM Analytics) and the University's Finance system.
As part of the Capital Programme Finance team, you will provide analysis and support for capital projects and revenue investment programmes, developing Business Partner skills. You will also undertake management accounting duties such as month/end activities, analysis, and reconciliations to support financial control and budget monitoring. Additionally, you will make process improvement recommendations and oversee technical development projects.
Applicants should have experience in a Management Accounting role, including processing monthly and year-end accounts. You should be studying towards a recognized professional accounting qualification and have experience in financial reporting within a similarly sized and complex organization.
You must be highly numerate, with excellent IT skills, including MS Office and intermediate Excel proficiency (e.g., formulas like SUMIF, VLOOKUP, PivotTables). Experience with multi-user finance systems and IBM Planning Analytics or similar tools is required.
The Finance Division, led by the Director of Finance, employs approximately 80 staff providing financial and commercial services supporting the university's operations and strategic aims.
