As a top 10 global dairy processor, we value contributions that matter and strive to foster an inclusive, growth-driven work environment. Ready to bring your best?

SDUK's brands include the Nation's favourite cheese brand Cathedral City plus other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly), functional ingredients and dairy free products.

This site at Hawes, DL8 3RN, remains the bastion of a 1,000-year long cheese making heritage of making Wensleydale Cheese, and on this small site the role of Assistant Management Accountant dealing with the stock is a busy, interesting and important role.

This is a site going through change, with many future opportunities for us to drive improvements in multiple areas, taking the business forward in a new and exciting direction.

You\'ll make contributions that matter by...
  • Helping to close production batches on time by working closely with teams across both sites to ensure materials are correctly matched to the finished products.
  • Supporting the management accountant with preparing the weekly management accounts.
  • Raising monthly purchase orders to ensure accurate values are reflected in the accounts.
  • Assisting with setting up new products in the finance system and preparing costings to support potential new business opportunities.
  • Keeping site teams on track with their stock cycle counts by providing regular progress updates.
You\'re best suited for the role if you are...
  • A qualified AAT or have a solid understanding of accountancy and looking to start or continue your ACCA, CIMA studies.
  • Experienced in an accounting environment-though it\'s not essential, it\'s definitely a plus.
  • Confident with PC tools, especially advanced Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Dynamics AX or similar manufacturing and cost accounting systems is helpful, but not required.
  • Curious, proactive, and self-motivated-you are at your best in fast-paced environments.
  • A quick learner who can meet deadlines and manage your workload effectively.
  • A good communicator, both in writing and in person.
  • Comfortable working independently and staying motivated without close supervision.
  • A team player who\'s happy to collaborate and work towards shared goals.
We support and care for our employees by providing you with...
  • 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
  • We Share Bonus Scheme
  • Employer pension contributions

  • Free on-site parking
  • Health cash plan - claim money back towards essential healthcare such as dental, eye care etc.
  • Access to Thrive 24 hours a day - a leading and NHS clinically approved app which focuses on general wellbeing
  • Long service recognised every 5 years
  • Life assurance
  • Discounted branded products
  • My Staff Shop - access to exclusive benefits, free advice and savings - providing great discounts from thousands of the UKs largest retailers & service provider
