Role: Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Hybrid - Two Days Office/Three Days WFH
6 Month FTC (With Potential to go Perm)

Job Overview

We're looking for a proactive and driven Assistant Management Accountant to join our growing, fast-paced business as we undergo an exciting period of digital transformation. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic finance team and gain valuable experience in a business that's evolving rapidly. The role offers a 6-month fixed term contract, with strong potential to convert to a permanent position.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Support the preparation for annual and interim audits, including handling audit requests and statutory accounts, and liaising directly with auditors.
  • Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare monthly reporting schedules and assist with management reporting.
  • Ensure correct accounting treatment of transactions within the P&L and balance sheet in line with relevant accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with key business stakeholders to ensure understanding of financial drivers and support performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including processing journals and handling ad hoc tasks.
  • Support the year-end close and financial statement preparation process.
  • Work closely with wider finance teams to resolve queries and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
About You
Qualifications/Skills & Required Experience:
  • Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Prior experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role.
  • Experience working in a multi-site business is desirable but not essential.
  • Proficient in accounting systems (Sage200 experience is a plus) and strong Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, using initiative to drive tasks forward.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage across all levels and departments.
