Job description

We are looking for a talented Assistant Management Accountant to support the Finance Team in achieving accurate and timely accounting information, sound financial controls and financial process improvements, offering and delivering a consistent approach within the London & Home Counties Business.

This position is office based, with flexibility for occasional remote working. You will be working within our Construction London & Home Counties business, where you will:

  • Assist with a variety of reporting to include, but not exclusively, management accounts, overhead accounts, balance sheets, reconciliations, prepayments and accruals
  • Produce the forecast for the short term weekly cashflow position and attend cash meetings
  • Raise sales invoices and report on overdue cash
  • Assist with cost reporting and control
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts consolidation, analysis and reporting
  • Setup new contracts on the COINs accounts system
  • Perform ad-hoc checks relating to Construction Industry VAT regulations
  • Undertake balance sheet and account reconciliations
  • Post prepayments, accruals and cost transfer journals
  • Assist with auditor queries
  • Prepare reports to assist balance sheet analysis including aged debt and aged creditors
  • Ensure effective control of low value company assets such as phones and IT equipment
  • Maintain process notes
  • Assist with ONS survey
  • Assist with various ad-hoc requests

Ideally You Will Have:

  • Construction industry experience
  • Part qualified AAT / CIMA or equivalent
  • As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will have the ability to work in a team environment contributing across the regional business, good planning and time management skills, ability to work well either alone or as part of a team, good writing, analytical and problem-solving skills, a part qualified accountant working towards an accountancy qualification, experience of working with COINS and experienced in Microsoft office with advanced skills in Excel.
