Major Recruitment North West Perms is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire. The role offers £32,000 per annum for a full-time, permanent opportunity and will involve supporting month-end reporting and budgeting across multiple UK entities.

The ideal candidate is part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent), possesses strong Excel skills, and can work independently while collaborating with site and finance teams. Occasional UK travel is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts across four UK entities.

• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain fixed asset registers.
• Analyse variances, identify trends and explain changes in financial performance.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with input from department managers.
• Assist with cash flow management and projections.
• Collaborate with site managers and finance colleagues for timely reporting.
• Support accounts payable/receivable processes and supplier interactions.
• Assist with year-end audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements.
• Occasionally travel to other UK sites as required.

Assistant Management Accountant

Are you looking to broaden your management accounting experience and take on a varied role?

We are recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant for an established business. You will gain exposure to different business operations and contribute to reporting, planning and the day-to-day finance function.

You will join a collaborative team where you can build your experience, take responsibility and help improve how the finance function operates.

The role

• Assisting with monthly management accounts across four UK entities.
• Preparing accruals, prepayments and other month-end journals.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining fixed asset registers.
• Analysing variances, identifying trends and explaining changes in financial performance.
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with departmental managers.
• Assisting with cashflow management and projections.
• Working closely with site managers and finance colleagues to ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Supporting recruitment and the day-to-day management of accounts payable and receivable.
• Assisting with year-end audits and liaising with external auditors.
• Contributing to process improvements and finance system enhancements.
• There will also be very occasional travel to other UK sites when required.

About you

We are looking for a personable, proactive finance professional who enjoys understanding the figures and working with colleagues across a business.

You will bring:

• Relevant experience in assistant management accounting or a similar finance role, with practical exposure to month-end.
• Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent status, with ongoing studies.
• A sound understanding of management accounting principles.
• Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting software.
• The ability to work independently, organise competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and a willingness to investigate issues and suggest improvements.
• A full driving licence and willingness to undertake occasional UK travel.

• £32,000 annual salary.
