We are now looking to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant aimed at driving improvement in the financial management team
Main duties of the job
Within financial management and financial planning services the purpose of the role is to provide assistance to specific clinical or non-clinical and support service areas in producing timely and accurate financial information/data for use in preparation of monthly finance reports.
The role is with a focus on a specific non-clinical area with the following main duties:
• Liaise with the financial accounts team to clear any mismatches or queries.
• Maintain the monitoring process to minimise variances in reporting.
• Investigate any variances and summarise in monthly business unit reporting pack.
• Preparing journals, recharges and adjustments to enable accuracy in financial statements.
• Assisting the financial management team with Budget Holder meetings and prepare relevant information and analysis required of them.
• Resolving queries from Budget Holders and Managers in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
• Supporting regular team tasks within the month end reporting period.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Candidate:
• Education to a degree or equivalent
• Demonstrating willingness to work toward CCAB qualification or equivalent
• At least 1 years’ experience within a finance function
• Ability to clearly communicate finance and non-finance issues
• Previous Corporate Services experience within the NHS is advantageous
• Demonstrate good team work and communication skills
