Assistant Management Accountant | £35-39k | Permanent | Commercially Focused Non-profit | Study Support Package | Hybrid Working

This role is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in a very well-known heritage non-profit. The Assistant Management Accountant role will be working with key senior stakeholders across the organisation to advise on management decision making and deliver succinct management reporting to specific areas. The successful candidate will need excellent Excel skills and have experience in reviewing and improving processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for a variety of month-end processes including preparing prepayments, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with the review and improvement of month end processes and procedures across finance
  • Produce accurate and timely management accounts and delivering management information that is fit for purpose and drive forward financial performance
  • Provide support to both budget holders and other senior finance staff to deliver management information
  • Assisting in the preparation of budgets for the department
  • Producing various reporting for budget holders to help decision making
  • Provide variance analysis and commentary on financial performance of department

Person specification

  • A part or fully qualified accountant (if part qualified, keen to continue studies - Study Support Package available)
  • Strong Excel user (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF etc)
  • A strong communicator ideally with experience of working with a variety of stakeholders to deliver financial information
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and proactively
  • An enthusiastic and driven candidate who is motivated and ambitious to work through a period of change
