We currently have a great opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join us at The London Clinic. If you are currently studying towards your ACCA, AAT or CIMA and would like to join a prestigious private hospital to continue and develop your career within finance, then this may be the role for you. We will also provide financial support for your ongoing studies, post probation period.

Job Profile

We're looking for someone who is very organised with an ability to prioritise and manage time effectively and with experience and understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial analysis techniques. We are looking for a good team player who is able to contribute to the success of the Finance team with a blend of technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and personal qualities that contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations within our team.

  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Shift Pattern: Full time/37.5 hours per week
  • Job Location: London/hybrid

Key Duties

  • Financial Analysis: Assisting in the analysis of financial data to provide insights into business performance, trends, and variances. This may involve examining income statements and balance sheets.
  • Cost Analysis: Helping to analyse costs associated with production, operations, or projects to identify areas for cost reduction or efficiency improvements.
  • Month-end Close: Participating in month-end and year-end close processes by reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and assisting with financial reporting requirements.
  • Financial Reporting: Supporting the preparation of internal management reports as well as external financial reports required by regulatory bodies or stakeholders.
  • Variance Analysis: Assisting in the investigation of variances between actual and budgeted figures to understand reasons for deviations and to provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Participating in special projects or initiatives as assigned by management, which may involve process improvement initiatives, or other ad hoc tasks.
  • Compliance and Regulation: Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards in all financial activities.

Skills & Experience

  • Studying towards AAT, CIMA or ACCA
  • Strong Excel skills

  • Ability to collaborate with other departments or teams to gather necessary information
