Are you a motivated and detail-oriented finance professional looking to take the next step in your accounting career?

RMS is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join our client’s exceptional fabrication company based in Darlington. This is a part-time role, 24 hours per week, on a permanent contract.

This role involves supporting the preparation and analysis of financial data, producing accurate management accounts, and contributing to the business's financial success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support in preparing monthly Management Accounts (individual company and group consolidated)
• Handle month-end accounting adjustments such as accruals, prepayments, and depreciation
• Conduct month-end bank and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and completeness
• Manage the fixed assets register
• Prepare and review monthly Contract Cost statements for live projects
• Analyze Profit and Loss data to explain variances to budget
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
• Prepare and analyze monthly payment applications and invoicing for reimbursable contracts
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits
• Establish and maintain accounting procedures and controls
• Monitor and review accounting system reports for accuracy
• Handle multi-currency accounting, reporting, and analysis for group consolidation

Requirements:

• Full or Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, including Long-Term Contract Accounting under FRS102 (PCM)
• Experience with Multi-Currency, Inter-Company, and Group Consolidated accounting
• Proficient in Excel
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Attention to detail and analytical skills
• Proactive approach to queries and transactions
• Experience managing month-end processes
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
