Assistant Management Accountant Sheffield Up to £35,000 DOE

Your new company
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join a forward-thinking business in Sheffield. This role is perfect for someone looking to take the next step in their finance career, offering hands-on experience in producing management accounts, supporting budgeting processes, and contributing to strategic financial decisions.

Your new role
You will assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, support the consolidation of financial statements, and prepare variance analysis reports providing insights into financial performance. Additionally, you will support the development of annual budgets and forecasts, reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, ensure prompt resolution of reconciling items, and support the preparation of monthly accruals and prepayments.

  • The preparation of management accounts
  • Preparation of VAT data and VAT returns
  • Cash flow statements, cash flow forecasts, and cash monitoring
  • The production of quarterly reporting
  • Responding to queries
  • Dealing with year-end audit engagements including preparation of relevant files, managing timelines, and resolving issues
  • Monitoring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, be part-qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA), possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. You will have previously supported management accounts updating accruals and prepayments, journals, balance sheet reconciliations. You will be looking to develop your skills and experience more and continue budgeting and forecasting.
