Role: Assistant Management Accountant

Reporting to the Management Accountant and ultimately the Group Finance Director, your role involves assisting with financial transactions and management accounts to provide accurate financial information to stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss accounts.
2. Process and record financial transactions (accounts payable, receivable, general ledger).
3. Assist with invoice processing, vendor payments, and supplier account reconciliations.
4. Support the preparation of tax returns, including VAT.
5. Perform bank reconciliations.
6. Verify inventory and WIP valuation, ensuring accuracy.
7. Reconcile stock with the general ledger, investigating discrepancies.
8. Carry out landed cost checks for shipments.
9. Verify BOMs in the system for component accuracy.
10. Review slow-moving and obsolete stock, ensuring proper provisions.
11. Review daily stock takes and record write-offs as per policies.
12. Ensure physical stock matches system records through audits.
13. Manage stock quarantine movements and treatments.
14. Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

Applicants should be working towards CIMA/ACCA/ACA or AAT qualified, with experience as an assistant accountant in manufacturing or FMCG sectors. Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and problem-solving skills are essential. Teamwork and project management abilities are also required.
