Job summary

PIB Group is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Retford-based team. You will support the preparation of management accounts, perform data preparation and reconciliations, and learn under a senior colleague to develop your technical and commercial skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance, accounting or bookkeeping; placement or internship.
• Basic knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and financial statements.
• Familiarity with finance systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals, assist with trial balances and standard reports.
• Extract and prepare financial data, maintain account schedules and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Follow finance procedures and controls, maintain documentation, support audit requests and queries, and assist the wider finance team during peak periods.

Job description

Our Management Accountant Team are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our growing team in Retford! The Management Accountant will support the preparation of management accounts and financial analysis, with a focus on processing, reconciliations and data preparation. The successful candidate will develop their technical and commercial skills under the guidance of a senior colleague, while gaining practical experience across management accounting activities. This is an opportunity to develop a career in finance, often while studying towards a recognized professional qualification. What You'll Be Doing:

• Prepare and post month-end journals accurately, assist with trial balances and produce standard reports within agreed deadlines.
• Extract and prepare financial data, maintain account schedules and complete routine balance sheet reconciliations.
• Follow finance procedures and controls, maintain documentation, support audit requests and queries, and assist the wider finance team during peak periods. Experience in finance, accounting or bookkeeping, or a relevant placement or internship; studying towards AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ACA is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and financial statements, with familiarity with finance systems and Excel.
• Organized and detail-oriented, with a willingness to learn, a collaborative attitude and a professional approach to confidential information.
