Job summary

RBH invites applications for an Assistant Maintenance Manager at Crowne Plaza London Docklands, East London. You will support the Maintenance Manager in daily operations, oversee preventative maintenance, and help keep guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces in top condition.

The role emphasizes safety, compliance, fault-finding, and coordinating a small team in a busy hospitality environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance or engineering experience, ideally within a hotel, hospitality or similar commercial environment.
• Good practical knowledge of general building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Experience supervising or supporting a maintenance team would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and statutory compliance requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills. Ability to prioritise multiple maintenance requirements in a busy operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Maintenance Manager with the day-to-day running of the hotel Maintenance department.
• Carry out and oversee planned preventative maintenance across guest bedrooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, plant rooms and external areas.
• Respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues and breakdowns, ensuring repairs are completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to guests and operations.
• Carry out routine inspections of the hotel building, equipment and facilities, identifying defects and ensuring corrective action is taken.
• Allocate and monitor maintenance tasks to team members, ensuring jobs are completed to the required standard and within agreed timescales.
• Support the management of the hotel's maintenance reporting and job-tracking system, ensuring outstanding works are appropriately prioritised and followed through to completion.
• Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of key building systems, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, boilers and other mechanical equipment.
• Support regular checks and testing relating to fire safety systems, emergency lighting, water temperatures, legionella controls and other statutory compliance requirements.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE MANAGER AT OUR HOTEL

What you'll be doing..
