Role and purpose

Are you looking for a role where you can have a positive impact every single day? At Housing 21, we’re passionate about providing safe, welcoming homes for older people of modest means — and we’d love you to be part of it. We’re looking for someone with energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to help people. Previous experience is useful, but what matters most is your outgoing personality, flexibility, and eagerness to learn. In return, we’ll provide excellent training, real responsibility, and the opportunity to begin a rewarding career in social housing.

As one of the UK’s leading providers of retirement housing, we believe in more than just bricks and mortar. Our Retirement Living Courts bring people together, offering independence while building community. As our new Assistant Local Housing Manager Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in making that happen.

What will your days look like?

No two days will be the same. One day you might be organising activities that bring neighbours together, the next you could be welcoming new residents or ensuring our health and safety standards are met. It’s varied, people-focused, and full of opportunities to grow.

What’s in it for you?
  • A nationally recognised Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) qualification
  • A Level 3 in Housing and Property Management Apprenticeship
  • A chance to kickstart your career in social housing with a supportive team
  • The satisfaction of knowing your work makes a genuine difference
  • An initial 18-month contract with the potential to secure a permanent role

If you share our passion for supporting older people to live well and independently, we’d love to hear from you. For an informal chat, drop Sam Shaw an email with your name and phone number.
