This role is for a legal professional to join the Complex Injury Claims Team at Keoghs, working closely with Partner Jonathan Booth on high-value, multi-track and catastrophic injury claims, mainly involving Employer’s Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL). The position involves detailed case analysis, drafting technical advice, and handling complex legal and medical issues. Candidates should be qualified solicitors or have equivalent legal experience, with at least 2–3 years’ experience in large loss EL/PL claims. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and support junior team members are essential.
You will work collaboratively with the Lead Lawyer and team to manage a caseload of complex injury claims from start to resolution. The role involves communicating with insurer clients, conducting detailed analysis of evidence, and drafting technical advice on various claim aspects. You will proactively identify and action next steps, handle technical tasks such as interviewing witnesses and attending court or mediation, and ensure performance targets and quality standards are met. Additionally, you will delegate tasks to junior staff and maintain up-to-date case management systems.
The ideal candidate is a qualified solicitor, CILEX member, or has equivalent legal experience, with 2–3 years handling Defendant Large Loss claims, particularly EL/PL personal injury cases. Experience in indemnity, liability, quantum, and complex medical issues is essential. Strong critical thinking, quantum analysis skills, and a solid understanding of case law, litigation procedures, and court rules are required. Attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and skills in guiding junior team members are also important.
