Job Title: Labour Planner - Confectionery
Location: York Factory
Salary: circa £27,500 PA (depending on experience) + potential bonus + other Companywide benefits
This role is based full time on site servicing the York Factory.

Position

Nestlé York Factory is the home of the iconic confectionery brand Kit Kat amongst several other well-known brands such as Aero, Polo and Yorkie. We’re recruiting a Labour Planner to join our team to drive operational excellence through effective labour planning. As Labour Planner, you’ll deliver a forward-looking labour plan that enhances efficiency, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness, and you’ll help improve labour planning processes and systems to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain an optimal labour plan for the York site, considering skills, training, holidays, absence, restrictions, and Working Time Directive guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Line Performance Managers, Supply Chain Planners, and our external agency provider to ensure effective workforce allocation.
  • Act as the first point of contact for labour adjustments in response to plant performance or shortages.
  • Deliver Labour KPIs aligned with the Factory Operational Master Plan.
  • Drive improvements in the labour planning system (PeoplePlan) and reporting processes.
  • Maintain and enhance a skills matrix to support workforce mobility across departments.
  • Manage the relationship with the agency labour provider, ensuring service quality and escalating issues as needed.
  • Ensure accurate collation of worked hours for agency payroll and timely invoice processing.
What you need to know
  • You’ll be computer literate and have experience with Microsoft Excel and other IT software.
  • Proven track record working in a fast-paced environment under pressure and multi-tasking.
  • Self-motivated, takes ownership of work, and balances workload effectively.
  • Attention to detail with an interest in process improvement.
  • Strong communication and the ability to influence across diverse teams.
  • Manufacturing environment experience is desirable but not essential.
