Job description

Our client has a requirement for an Assistant Lab Technician, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Westlakes.

Role Purpose:
  • Assist the analytical team in delivering efficient analytical services to customers, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Job Responsibilities:
  1. Support the delivery of analytical programmes to ensure results are provided on time and meet quality standards.
  2. Maintain compliance with laboratory quality management systems to support accreditation.
  3. Follow processes and procedures to ensure safe working practices.
  4. Assist in providing a consistent and efficient service.
  5. Manage waste samples and consumables responsibly.
  6. Perform routine laboratory cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  7. Take responsibility for personal development.
  8. Adhere to legislation, company policies, and procedures to meet standards.
  9. Understand and promote operational practices that minimize wastage.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
  • Science GCSEs at grade A to C or equivalent.
  • Experience in analytical chemistry is preferred but not essential.
  • Good organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Awareness of conventional and radiological safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in IT.
