Job summary

National Gas Transmission PLC is seeking an Assistant Investment Planner to support the Major Programmes team in shaping Britain's energy infrastructure. You will help turn strategic priorities into deliverable investment projects and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to enable long-term asset planning.

The role emphasizes data-driven investment cases, RIIO-T3 commitments, and governance processes, with hybrid working and a location near Warwick.

Qualifications

Degree or HNC in Engineering/Asset Management/ STEM or related, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with evidence-based recommendations.
Advanced Excel and data management/reporting experience.

Responsibilities

Develop fully funded projects with clear deliverables aligned to RIIO-T3 commitments.
Build stakeholder relationships to support efficient project delivery.
Produce reports, presentations, and briefings for senior leaders.
Lead meetings to communicate progress and portfolio updates.
Deliver projects in line with strategic priorities and financial objectives.
Monitor project spend, forecast costs, and identify risks or variances against budget.
Analyse investment, resource, outage, and delivery data to support decision-making.
Work with Investment Planners, Engineers, Finance, Regulatory, and Project Delivery teams.
Support ND500 process from concept through to initiation.
Identify opportunities to improve investment planning processes and ways of working.
