A leading water service company in the UK is seeking an Assistant Indirect Tax Manager to manage VAT compliance and advisory responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong VAT knowledge and be qualified or part-qualified in CTA, ACA, or ACCA. This role offers flexible working options and supports the wider tax team during the finance transformation to Oracle Fusion.
We are seeking an Assistant Indirect Tax Manager to join Northumbrian Water Group, supporting compliance with indirect tax obligations and maintaining an optimal tax position across the Group.
This dynamic role covers VAT compliance, advisory responsibilities, and involvement in other indirect taxes such as Climate Change Levy, Landfill Tax, and more.
You will contribute to the Senior Accounting Officer assurance process and assist with corporation tax activities, including reporting and tax return preparation.
The role supports the wider tax team and contributes to the Group’s Finance Transformation, including the upgrade from Oracle R12 to Oracle Fusion.
Based at Northumbria House, Pity Me, with flexible home working options.
The role is known internally as Indirect Tax Accountant.
Qualified or part-qualified CTA, ACA, or ACCA with indirect tax experience. Support for further study may be available.
Strong technical VAT knowledge, clear communication skills, and self-motivation are essential.
Experience with AlphaVAT, AlphaTax, Oracle ERP modules, and some knowledge of corporation tax and the water industry is advantageous.
You should be results-oriented, adaptable, detail-focused, and possess strong analytical skills.
