ASSISTANT IMPORT MERCHANDISER - FASHION

MANCHESTER

Our client is one of the UK’s largest fashion accessories suppliers to high street retailers. They design and source products for major high street names and their own branded items, stocked in over 1500 stores worldwide. They are recruiting a motivated Assistant Import Merchandiser to join their import merchandising team on a full-time permanent basis. The role involves supporting senior merchandisers with retail high street and global online fashion accounts.

Duties:
  • Liaise with Far East factories regarding design & seal samples and maintain sample trackers.
  • Order labels and manage label stock sheets.
  • Place raw material orders for fabrics and components.
  • Chase deliveries of materials and components, update factories, and ensure CP dates are met.
  • Coordinate with customers for size breakdowns and barcode details to meet CP dates.
  • Inspect fabrics and samples upon receipt.
  • Create master pre-production fit workbooks.
  • Log and record test reports.
  • Receive and update weekly production plans from factories.
  • Update and share production plans with customers.
  • Arrange freight import quotes and monitor progress.
  • Book customer warehouses for delivery.
  • Provide shipment paperwork and AQLs from factories prior to ex-factory dates.
  • Assist senior and head of Merchandising with various tasks.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, organized, and able to work quickly. They should work well in a team and independently, managing tasks effectively with attention to detail.

Role requirements
  • Minimum 1 year import merchandising experience in a fashion supplier.
  • Experience with critical path management.
  • Experience working with overseas suppliers and high street and online retailers.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated.
  • 25 days holiday, increasing to 30 based on service.
