Job description

Job Title: Assistant Hydrologist

My client, a market-leading multidisciplinary Civil and Environmental Consultancy, is seeking an Assistant Hydrologist to join their innovative team. This role offers hybrid working arrangements from Shrewsbury.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Strong academic background in Hydrology, Civil, or Water Engineering.
  • Experience with flood risk assessments or hydrological assessments for UK-based Consultancies or Water Companies.
  • Living locally is beneficial for site visits to flood risk areas.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct flood risk assessments, catchment management, surface water, nutrient neutrality, re-wilding, and natural flood management projects.
  • Engage in habitat management, re-wetting farmland, wetland creation, and surface water management plans.
  • Develop large-scale catchment management plans and nutrient neutrality assessments.
  • Perform water quality sampling, pollution incident assessments, flow calculations, flood estimation, and peak surveys.
  • Design and implement catchment-scale flooding and drainage solutions, wetland creation, and habitat restoration projects.
  • Survey vole habitats through farmland re-wetting initiatives.
  • Manage bids and projects focused on government initiatives.
