Assistant, HR (FCS70)

Contract: Permanent, working 35 hours per week

Salary: £27,401 per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working

Location: Manchester (The role will be based at the Manchester office; however, we support hybrid working, combining remote work with regular on-site contact days, typically 1-2 days a week)

We are seeking a professional HR Assistant to join our small, friendly team within the HR Service Centre.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Acting as the first point of contact for internal HR inquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions
  2. Managing HR administration such as onboarding new starters, preparing offer letters, employment contracts, contractual changes, and employment references
  3. Updating and maintaining employee data in HR systems
  4. Supporting broader HR functions with administrative tasks
  5. Posting vacancies on our recruitment portal and other platforms, supporting shortlisting, interview setup, and system maintenance
Candidate requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar HR role, with strong knowledge of recruitment and payroll processes
  • Excellent administrative and data entry skills with keen attention to detail
  • Experience with payroll calculations
  • Ability to work independently and suggest process improvements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team
  • Good knowledge of HR systems
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles
  • A positive attitude and high level of accuracy
