Job description

What skills and experience we're looking for

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused Assistant HR Administrator to join the existing Corporate Services team within St George’s Academy.

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be responsible for providing effective administrative support for specific aspects of HR for the Academy.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting with general recruitment administration, such as preparing interview packs, booking rooms, arranging refreshments, and greeting candidates.
  2. Assisting with the running of interviews as required.
  3. Supporting the administration of the Academy’s new starter process, including requesting and verifying references.
  4. Assisting with the administration of the probationary period process.
  5. Creating, maintaining, and archiving HR files (electronic and paper).
  6. Responding to reference requests for staff members.
  7. Supporting the HR Manager with documentation and arrangements for employee relation meetings.
  8. Attending employee relations meetings to take minutes as needed.
  9. Supporting payroll processes alongside the Payroll & HR Administrator.

You should have experience providing administrative support in a busy, customer-focused environment. Experience in HR or recruitment administration is desirable but not essential.

You should have good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, mail merge) and other ICT packages, as well as understanding of filing, storage, and archiving systems. Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances is important.

The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration or demonstrate equivalent experience.
