Job summary

CHILDREN'S HOSPICE SOUTH WEST in the South West of England seeks an Assistant Housekeeper for Little Harbour. This part-time role covers 20 hours per week with a pro-rata salary between £13,219 and £13,928, plus enhancements for weekends and bank holidays to reflect full‑time equivalent pay (£24,456–£25,767).

You will maintain a clean environment for children and families, assist with laundry, linen and ironing, and work as part of a caring team committed to making a real difference.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning or housekeeping, ideally in hotel or similar setting.
• Good communication skills and a warm, friendly approach.
• Awareness of health and safety in the workplace.

What you will be doing:

You will be helping with cleaning of the house, including preparation of children's and family rooms, all main communal areas and bathrooms. You will also be assisting with the laundry, including laundering of bed linen and clothes, ironing, stocking up of linen cupboards.

The Successful Candidate:

You will have experience of working in a cleaning or housekeeping role, ideally within a hotel or similar setting, and have an awareness of health and safety in the workplace. You will have good communication skills as well as a warm and friendly approach and the ability to work as part of a team, and independently.
