Job summary

Riverside is seeking an Assistant Home Condition Surveyor to inspect social housing stock, assess safety and compliance, and support asset investment planning. The role combines field surveys with back-office data handling in a hybrid pattern based in Speke, Liverpool.

Candidates may be recent graduates or currently pursuing HNC/HND in construction. You will work toward professional housing asset management, ensuring quality and decency for residents.

Qualifications

• Site surveys most of the working week with one back-office day.

Responsibilities

• Assist in stock condition surveys of domestic properties and communal areas.
• Conduct site surveys for the majority of the week; one day for back-office tasks.
• Record data on building components (age, condition, lifecycle dates).
• Use HHSRS to identify hazards and report them.
• Capture photos and update asset management systems with findings.
• Identify defects, disrepair, and safety risks during inspections.
• Support data validation to ensure asset records integrity.
• Assist in delivery of stock condition, energy efficiency and compliance surveys.
• Support planning of maintenance and investment programs with accurate data.

Salary: £28,624 Per Annum (£31,638 is achieved after 12 successful performance in the role) Per Annum
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, Hybrid
Location: Speke, Liverpool

Role Profile

• Assist in carrying out stock condition surveys of domestic properties and communal areas to support asset investment planning.
• Actively undertaking site surveys for the majority of the working week, with one dedicated day allocated to back-office activities
• Collect, record and maintain accurate data on building components, including age, condition and expected lifecycle replacement dates.
• Use the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) to identify and report Category 1 and 2 hazards.
• Capture photographic evidence and update asset management systems with survey findings.
• Assist in identifying and reporting defects, disrepair issues and health and safety risks observed during property inspections.
• Support the validation and quality assurance of property survey data to ensure accuracy and integrity of asset records.
• Assist in the delivery of stock condition, energy efficiency and compliance-related surveys where required.
• Support the development of planned maintenance and investment programmes through accurate survey and asset data collection.

Additional Information

• The Group has offices across the UK and on this basis, there may be the requirement to travel to other locations to effectively perform this role, albeit that regular support will be required to teams in Camden and Dartford
• The role will be exposed to sensitive information; therefore, the role holder is expected to maintain levels of confidentiality at all times.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

• Working towards HNC/HND in construction / building services.
• Understanding of housing asset management principles and stock condition surveying
• Proven track record of working in a customer-focused environment.
• Actively undertaking site surveys for the majority of the working week, with one dedicated day allocated to back-office activities
• Basic knowledge of Building Regulations, Health & Safety and other statutory/regulatory standards.
• Basic knowledge of CDM requirements.
• Proven Skills & Knowledge in the following:

Desirable

• Educated to degree level in construction / building services.

• Managing, monitoring, recording and reporting of Health & Safety and compliance.
• Experience in construction or building industry
• Basic knowledge of construction methods.
• Awareness of the Decent Homes Standard, Decent Homes Standard 2 and HHSRS.
