Job description

Ringway Jacobs is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to support highway safety inspections and asset data collection across Cheshire East.

This vital role involves assisting with driven safety inspections, accurately recording findings, and ensuring compliance with the council’s inspection policy.

You’ll be working outdoors in all weather conditions, using both digital and manual methods to document and respond to highway issues.

The Role

  • Assist Highways Safety Inspections undertaking Cheshire East road network as set out in the Inspection Schedule.
  • Perform walked and driven highway inspections working alone and alongside others.
  • Assess and respond to stakeholder enquiries relating to highways.
  • Ensure inspection processes and procedures are being followed as set for the service and in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Record and upload inspection and photographic files to the asset management system.

About You

  • Possess a full UK driving licence.
  • Possess competent IT skills including the ability to adapt to various software and hardware
  • The ideal candidate will have experience of working in highway maintenance and/or with an asset management system but not necessary as training will be provided.
  • Displays integrity and ethical conduct at all time. Accountable for their actions.
  • An understanding of the importance of the role and the financial implications of not working strictly in accordance with the current policy.
