Job description

You must be willing to work shift patterns, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis. Hours are '12 hour' shift across most wards.

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our ambitious organisation as a Healthcare support worker. You will be responsible for delivering individual patient care and will be expected to support the team leaders and the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.

This role is offered on a progression scheme where you will undertake the Care Certificate which approximately takes 6 months to complete where your pay band will increase. You will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic, to help improve both the patient experience and the nursing care.

Duties include:

  • Caring and communication with kindness and compassion
  • Personal Care including catheter care and Incontinence (This includes bodily fluids and faeces)
  • Nutrition and Hydration support
  • Pressure Area Care
  • Collect specimens (routine bodily fluids only)
  • Moving and handling
  • Documentation including food & fluid charts and outcome sheets
  • Environmental maintenance
  • Performing care in line with risk assessments and care plans
  • Ensure all clinical rooms are stocked up with appropriate clinical forms and patient information sheets
  • Assist with the preparation of medical notes to facilitate the running of clinics
  • Escort to other departments (except theatre)
  • Instigate Emergency procedure
  • Promote person centered values and provide support for patient's wellbeing and fulfilment
  • After Death Care
