Job summary

Randstad NV partners with a specialist SEN school near Fordham to recruit an Assistant Headteacher (Teaching & Learning) on a full-time, permanent basis. You will lead curriculum design, pedagogy, and inclusive practices for pupils with ASC and SEMH, driving high-impact outcomes.

You will work with the Headteacher and SLT to shape school strategy, coach staff, monitor teaching quality, and ensure robust assessment and safeguarding practices across all key stages.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
• Evidence of leadership development (e.g., NPQSL, NPQLT) is desirable.
• Deep knowledge of specialist SEN pedagogy and adapted assessment frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Curriculum & Pedagogy: lead SEN curriculum development, monitoring and evaluation.
• Instructional Leadership & CPD: design and deliver internal CPD, coaching staff, embed SEN strategies.
• Quality of Education: lead QA framework including observations and learning walks.
• Assessment & Progress Tracking: oversee SEN assessments and EHCP targets.
• SLT Contribution: contribute to SEF/SDP and safeguarding governance.
• Staff Mentoring & Support: line-manage subject leads and classroom teachers.
