Job summary

Randstad UK partners with a specialist SEN school near Fordham, Cambridgeshire, to recruit an outstanding Assistant Headteacher (Teaching & Learning) on a full-time, permanent basis. You will lead on curriculum design, differentiation for complex SEN needs, and embedding evidence-based teaching across key stages.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
• Evidence of leadership development (e.g., NPQSL, NPQLT, or higher SEN education) is desirable.
• Proven leadership experience in a specialist SEN setting or inclusive mainstream.
• Deep knowledge of SEN pedagogy, curriculum adaptation, and adapted assessment frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Curriculum & Pedagogy: lead differentiated SEN curriculum development and evaluation.
• Instructional Leadership & CPD: design and deliver internal CPD and coach staff.
• Quality of Education: oversee QA framework including observations and learning walks.
• Assessment & Progress Tracking: manage assessments linked to EHCP targets and NC adaptations.
• SLT Contribution: contribute to SEF, SDP, and safeguarding governance.
• Staff Mentoring & Support: line manage subject leads and teachers.
