Job summary

KPI EDUCATION in South West London is seeking an Assistant Headteacher to join its Senior Leadership Team from September. You will lead on SEN provision and drive whole-school improvement for pupils aged 3-19 with Autism, SLD and complex needs.

The role requires QTS, proven leadership in specialist SEN settings, and a track record of improving teaching and pupil outcomes. You will collaborate with therapists and external agencies, coach staff, and promote safeguarding and inclusion.

Qualifications

• QTS and SEN leadership experience.
• Significant SEN teaching experience.
• Proven leadership at middle or senior level.
• Extensive knowledge of Autism and complex SEND.
• Strong understanding of EHCP processes and SEND responsibilities.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams with therapists and external agencies.
• Track record of improving teaching, learning and pupil outcomes.
• Excellent coaching and staff development skills.
• Outstanding organisational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of School with day-to-day leadership and strategic development.
• Lead on the school's SEN provision, ensuring EHCP statutory compliance.
• Oversee annual reviews, admissions and transitions for pupils with complex needs.
• Drive whole-school improvement through QA, self-evaluation and action planning.
• Coach, mentor and develop teachers and support staff to improve practice.
• Lead staff CPD and deliver high-quality professional development.
• Monitor teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum quality.
• Collaborate with therapists, educational psychologists and external agencies to deliver integrated support.
• Lead safeguarding practice with the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
