Assistant Headteacher - Quality of Education (Curriculum, Teaching & Learning)

Location: Inner London

Salary: Up to £71,000 per annum

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner)

We are seeking a passionate, skilled, and ambitious Assistant Headteacher to join the senior leadership team at a specialist school, for children and young people between 7-17, in Inner London. This exciting role offers the chance to lead on curriculum design, teaching and learning, and quality of education, while playing a key part in shaping a high-impact, inclusive educational environment for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead whole-school curriculum design and the teaching and learning strategy
  • Oversee and develop middle leadership across the school
  • Drive standards through effective use of staff and resources
  • Lead on internal audits and termly Quality of Education reporting
  • Promote a trauma-informed, inclusive school culture
  • Monitor progress against strategic objectives and support the school's continuous improvement
  • Contribute to teaching in your subject specialism

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience
  • Proven leadership and management experience in a SEMH or specialist provision
  • Deep understanding of curriculum development, pedagogy, and quality assurance
  • Strong knowledge of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and Independent School Standards
  • Committed to trauma-informed, inclusive practice and safeguarding
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
