Job summary

Newbury Park Primary School in Ilford seeks an inspirational and committed Assistant Headteacher to join the Senior Leadership Team and lead our strategic approach to inclusion and achievement.

This role focuses on ensuring every child, regardless of need or background, has access to excellent education and improved outcomes. You will work with SENDCo, EAL and vulnerable pupils while shaping school-wide inclusion practices.

Qualifications

• Excellent and experienced primary practitioner.
• Successful leadership experience within a primary school setting.
• Strong understanding of inclusion, SEND and removing barriers to learning.
• Excellent teaching and adaptive practice enable all pupils to succeed.
• Experience improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs and vulnerable groups.
• Ability to support and develop colleagues through coaching and professional dialogue.
• Ability to analyse information, identify priorities and evaluate impact.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, staff and external professionals.
• Shared ambition that every child should feel valued, included and successful.

Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership of inclusion across Nursery to Year 6.
• Oversee SEND provision and outcomes.
• Line management and development of the SENDCo.
• Oversee EAL provision and language development.
• Support vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils.
• Improve outcomes for pupils with additional needs.
• Develop adaptive teaching approaches.
• Ensure effective intervention and support strategies.
• Promote inclusive classroom practice.
• Collaborate with the Deputy Headteacher for Quality of Education and Standards.
• Coordinate with the Deputy Headteacher for Behaviour, Culture, Safeguarding and Attendance.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement and staff development.
