Job summary

Esland Education is seeking an Assistant Headteacher & DSL to support senior leaders in shaping strategy for education and safeguarding. The post includes a timetabled teaching commitment and duties delegated by the Headteacher.

You will lead on school improvement, policy development, and safeguarding across the entire school. The role requires strong leadership, experience in DSL duties, and commitment to high educational standards for diverse cohorts in Shropshire.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status is essential.
• A degree is required.
• Professional development in leadership is desirable.
• National Award for SEN Co-ordination is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher in leading the school.
• Manage staff and resources effectively to meet aims.
• Oversee safeguarding and welfare across the school.
• Develop and monitor the curriculum and assessment across phases.
• Lead on governance, accountability, and partnership work.
