Job summary

Copper Fields School in Gunnislake is seeking an Assistant Headteacher to lead Curriculum and Quality of Education. You will shape strategy with the Headteacher, drive school improvement and develop staff across the wider school.

The role includes a classroom teaching commitment up to 70%, a permanent contract, and a salary up to £52,000 per annum. You’ll work within a safeguarding‑driven culture in Outcomes First Group.

Qualifications

• QTS, a degree and NPQSL (or equivalent leadership experience) required.
• Proven school leadership, teaching and line management experience.
• Experience of staff development, performance management and school improvement.

Responsibilities

• Shape the school’s vision, curriculum and strategic direction.
• Lead school improvement using assessment and student progress data.
• Champion high-quality teaching and support colleagues to develop.
• Promote high expectations and an inclusive culture where every student can thrive.
• Lead, line manage and develop staff, supporting performance and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with families, professionals, governors and external partners.
• Support safeguarding, risk management and the effective day-to-day running of the school.
• Take on wider leadership responsibilities as delegated by the Headteacher.
