We’re seeking a visionary and passionate Assistant Headteacher to join our dynamic leadership team and help shape the future of Gusford Primary School.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader who is committed to raising standards, driving school improvement, and securing the best possible outcomes for all pupils. You will play a pivotal role in leading teaching and learning, developing staff, and supporting the strategic direction of the school.

Contract:Permanent, Full Time

Salary:Leadership Range – L4-L8 - £53,602-£59,167 per annum

Gusford Primary School is in the heart of Belstead and Chantry. It serves and contributes to a very happy community. Our school motto is ‘Together We Believe, Learn & Achieve’. As the school is a member of a Trust, it is part of a wider network of supportive schools. The Ipswich Hub and ALT schools from the Lowestoft and Cambridgeshire hubs, engage in regular school-to-school improvement networks, leadership development and CPD opportunities. Being part of the ALT enables our school to work collaboratively, not only with the Trust, to improve the outcomes for all our children, but in partnership with parents / carers and the local community.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the Headteacher with school improvement planning and implementation.
  • Leading a phase and a National Curriculum subject (which may be a core subject).
  • Driving high standards of learning and pupil achievement.
  • Managing and mentoring staff and contributing to professional development.
  • Supporting the cultural ethos and managing pupil behaviour across the school.

What we are looking for:

  • At least 2 years of senior leadership experience.
  • Strategic vision with a strong commitment to inclusion and excellence.
  • The ability to inspire, develop and motivate both staff and pupils.
