About the School

This specialist School supports children with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and related additional needs. With small classes, a strong pastoral ethos, and a commitment to holistic education, the School focuses on developing both academic progress and emotional wellbeing. Staff work collaboratively to create a calm, structured, and inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to succeed.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on whole-School development priorities in line with the strategic vision
  • Support the Head Teacher in the day-to-day running of the School
  • Provide daily leadership and inspire excellence in teaching by modelling best practices.
  • Oversee areas such as behaviour, curriculum development, or safeguarding (depending on experience)
  • Promote high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment
  • Foster a culture of respect, aspiration, and resilience across the School
  • Be a visible, proactive presence throughout the School community
  • Contribute to the continued development of an inclusive, trauma-informed approach
  • Work with external Schools and agencies to enhance and share best practices in SEN provision.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Significant teaching experience within mainstream or SEN settings
  • Proven leadership experience (e.g., as a Phase Leader, Head of Department, or SLT member)
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, curriculum planning, and School improvement processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and coaching skills
  • A commitment to inclusive, student-centred education
  • A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
