Each post-holder is responsible for leading a strategic area of the school. However, at the same time, there is a shared responsibility to deliver on the school’s ambitions, as set out in the School Development Plan (SDP). The two primary leadership responsibilities for the role advertised includes* **The Marion Centre.** The centre is a specialist resource base that provides education for students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD). At present, there are around 70 students in the centre, all taught in small classes with appropriate adult ratios. There is an exceptional team of teaching and support staff who work exclusively within the centre, led by an Assistant Head as Head of Centre. There is a Deputy Head of Centre and two further middle leaders to support the strategic and operational management of this area of the school; and* **Mainstream Inclusion/Wellbeing**. Whilst the school has its own inclusion department, led by a Head of Inclusion/ALNCo, the Assistant Head is also responsible for providing strategic leadership to this aspect of school life to ensure consistency in delivery and shared expertise. This includes line managing the Head of Inclusion/ALNCo and being a visible presence, providing tailored support to families, where appropriate.This is an exciting role for a serving or aspiring whole-school leader to join the leadership team at our school. The role has become available following the promotion of the existing post-holder to a headship within a specialist alternative education provision within the city. We welcome applications from existing members of leadership teams as well as experienced middle leaders looking for their first role as a school leader.
