Assistant Head of Year – Secondary sCHOOL

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Daily Rate: £130–£150 (PAYE)
Start Date: September 2025

We’re working with a high-achieving secondary school in Newcastle looking for a passionate, student-first Assistant Head of Yearto join their team from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone who believes in calm corridors, consistent routines, and the power of a trusted adult.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Help lead the pastoral care of a year group - supporting attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing

  • Being the steady, visible presence that students know they can count on

  • Working closely with tutors, safeguarding leads, and SLT to provide joined-up support

  • Communicating confidently with parents, carers, and staff to build a strong network around each student
