Job summary

First Steps Together is seeking an exceptional Assistant Head of School to join our leadership team. This is a hands-on role focused on day-to-day quality of education, pupil experience and ongoing school improvement, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding and inclusion.

You’ll work with the Headteacher and wider leadership to develop teaching and learning, behaviour and attendance strategies, mentor staff, lead initiatives and ensure our pupils with SEND achieve their best.

Qualifications

• Experience of teaching or supporting learning in a school setting.
• Strong leadership, mentoring or line-management experience.
• Understanding of SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible, positive school leadership across the whole community.
• Support monitoring and improvement of teaching, learning, behaviour and attendance.
• Lead staff development, induction and safeguarding, aligning with the School Improvement Plan.
