Avonside Girls’ High School is seeking an experienced mathematics teacher who is looking for leadership to be assistant head of learning area mathematics.

This is an opportunity to lead in a large, collegial and expert department and would suit either someone looking for the first step into leadership or someone wanting to lead in a bigger context. We are an urban, multicultural girls’ school in the East of Christchurch with a commitment to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to providing an educational space which empowers and nurtures our akonga to thrive.

The successful candidate will have experience in differentiated teaching, using data to inform practice and a focus on student progress and in teaching for success in the co-requisites, all NCEA levels and in senior mathematics leadership in any of these areas in connection with mathematics and numeracy is an advantage.
