Job summary

TeacherActive seeks an interim Assistant Head of Department (English, Maths & Support) to join the Supported Learning team across Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses. The role focuses on embedding inclusive practice, personalised curricula for High Needs, and coordinating staffing to maximise attainment.

You will work with the Head of Department and stakeholders to ensure high quality learning experiences and audit-ready learner journeys, while promoting equality and inclusion in the workplace.

Qualifications

• The candidate has leadership experience in education and can inspire others on inclusion.
• Experience developing personalised curricula for students with high needs.
• Strong understanding of SEND, audits and learner journey documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day activities with Head of Department and other leaders.
• Embed equality, diversity and inclusive practices across the department.
• Lead curriculum planning to maximise attainment for all learners including high needs.
• Ensure staffing and timetables support learners' progress and achievement.
• Champion inclusive practice and mentor colleagues in learning support.
