Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an interim Assistant Head of Department (English, Maths & Support) to lead the Supported Learning team across Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses. The role focuses on delivering a personalised curriculum for students with High Needs, embedding English and Maths in vocational learning, and aligning learning support to maximise attainment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a department within Further Education or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of SEND and inclusive curriculum development.
• Proven ability to audit learner journeys and ensure high attainment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Supported Learning department and coordinate day-to-day activities with Heads of Department and staff.
• Embed equality, diversity and inclusion practices across the department.
• Develop personalised curricula for students with High Needs and track progress against ambitious outcomes.
