We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Head of Department (Inclusion) to join our Supported Learning Development. We have three roles available across three campuses.
You will join us on a full-time basis and receive a competitive salary of between £44,409.00 per annum, plus staff benefits.
Weekly Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
This role requires collaboration with the Head of Department, other Assistant Heads, Lecturers, and Technicians to coordinate activities.
The role involves embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion practices, ensuring support for students with SEND and High Needs through personalized curricula integrating English and Maths within vocational learning.
You will be responsible for staffing, timetabling, and ensuring high achievement levels for students, especially those with High Needs, through personalized curricula and effective use of college systems.
You will champion inclusivity, mentoring colleagues, and modeling inclusive practices in classrooms and workspaces.
Leadership qualities, understanding of special educational needs, experience working with students, families, and professionals.
High pedagogic standards, ability to inspire and lead inclusion initiatives, develop curricula, and support SEND agendas.
Experience with quality assurance, managing student records, and working in a SEND department in a college or school with post-16 experience.
Strong management approach, HR policies, staff wellbeing focus, and experience implementing reasonable adjustments for inclusion.
