We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Head of Department (Inclusion) to join our Supported Learning Development. We have three roles available across three campuses.
You will join us on a full-time basis and receive a competitive salary of between £44,409.00 per annum, plus staff benefits.
Weekly Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
This role involves working collaboratively with the Head of Department, other Assistant Heads, Lecturers, and Technicians to coordinate daily activities.
The role includes embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion practices, and ensuring that students with SEND and High Needs receive personalized curricula that incorporate English and Maths within vocational learning and the Supported Learning Department.
You will be responsible for staffing to support student achievement, maximizing learning support timetables, and implementing inclusive practices within the department.
You will champion inclusivity through mentoring and modeling excellent inclusive practices in classrooms and workspaces.
Your management style should foster collaboration in planning and resource adaptation to help all students reach their potential, including those with high needs.
We seek candidates with strong leadership qualities, understanding of special educational needs, and experience working with students, families, and professionals.
You should have high pedagogic standards, the ability to lead inclusion initiatives, and experience in curriculum development and quality assurance for both accredited and non-accredited programs.
Extensive experience in a SEND department within a college or school, especially with post-16 students, is essential. You should also have a strong management approach, including HR policies and staff wellbeing, and be skilled in implementing reasonable adjustments for inclusion.
