We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Head of Department (Inclusion) to join our Supported Learning Development across three campuses. This is a full-time role with a competitive salary of £44,409.00 per annum plus staff benefits.
Weekly hours: 37 hours, Monday to Friday.
This role involves working collaboratively with the Head of Department, other Assistant Heads, Lecturers, and Technicians to coordinate practical and theoretical activities. You will work to embed equality, diversity, and inclusion practices, ensuring students with SEND and High Needs receive personalized curricula integrating English and Maths within vocational and supported learning.
You will be responsible for staffing, maximizing learning support timetables, and implementing high-quality, personalized curricula for students with High Needs. You will champion inclusivity through mentoring and modeling best inclusive practices.
Your management style should promote collaboration in planning, resource development, and supporting learning support staff to help all students reach their full potential, including those with high needs.
We seek candidates with strong leadership qualities, experience working with students with SEND, and a high level of pedagogic practice. Experience in curriculum development, internal quality assurance, and working with stakeholders to support the SEND agenda is essential. Candidates should have extensive experience in a specialist SEND setting, with post-16 experience, and demonstrate effective management and staff wellbeing skills.
