We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Head of Department (Inclusion) to join our Supported Learning Development. We have three roles available across three campuses.
You will join us on a full-time basis and receive a competitive salary of between £44,409.00 per annum, plus staff benefits.
Weekly Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
This role requires collaboration with the Head of Department, other Assistant Heads, Lecturers, and Technicians to coordinate practical and theoretical activities.
The role involves embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion practices, and ensuring that students with SEND and High Needs receive personalized curricula that incorporate English and Maths within vocational learning and across the Supported Learning Department.
You will be responsible for staffing to support all students' achievement, maximizing daily learning support timetables, and implementing high standards of personalized curricula for students with High Needs, with ambitious outcomes. You will champion inclusivity through mentoring and modeling inclusive practices.
Your management style should foster collaboration in planning, resource preparation, and support to ensure all students reach their full potential, including those with high needs.
We seek candidates with strong leadership qualities, experience in special educational needs, and the ability to work effectively with students, families, and professionals. You should have high pedagogic standards, experience developing curricula, and working with stakeholders to support the SEND agenda.
Experience in quality assurance for both accredited and non-accredited programs, and familiarity with college systems like exams, student records, and MIS, are essential. Extensive experience in a SEND department in a college or school, especially post-16, is required. Strong management skills, including HR policies and staff wellbeing, are also necessary. You should be adept at implementing reasonable adjustments to promote inclusion.
